OtterTune observes your database’s runtime metrics and then uses machine learning to automatically generate knob configuration settings (e.g., mysql.cnf, pg_settings) to improve its performance and efficiency. It works for both on-prem and cloud-based database deployments (Amazon RDS, Microsoft Azure Databases, Google Cloud SQL). OtterTune was founded by students and researchers in the Carnegie Mellon Database Research Group and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
